Three nights with Barolo, the King of Wines

A gourmand and intriguing trip through the Barolos produced in the “capital” town of the King of Wines. This is what the first edition of “A cena con il Barolo di Barolo a Barolo” will offer. On Friday November 28th, December 5th and 12th twenty-seven producers from Barolo will propose their DOCG wines.

Eight restaurants in Barolo will be the set of this event: Osteria Vineria Barolando, Locanda nel Borgo Antico, Ristorante Brezza, Ristorante del Buon Padre, Osteria La Cantinella, Ristorante La Cantinetta, Foresteria Marchesi di Barolo, Osteria RossoBarolo.
Each restaurant will offer a fixed menu, in which the most typical dishes of the Langhe traditional cuisine will play a prominent role. Such a perfect pairing for this precious wine! Each night there will be a choice of 9 different producers, all based in the town of Barolo, divided in three “flights” of three glasses each, displaying different crus, styles and wine-making techniques. Each flight will have a price of 20 Euros. The glasses in which you will taste the “Barolos from Barolo” will be provided with a tag that showing the producer, the cru, the name and the year. A complimentary technical file of the 2004 vintage and a map of all the crus of the municipal territory of Barolo will also be provided. It can be kept to retain the memory of the tastings and night.

“The aim of this event – says the president of the municipal tourist board Italo Cabutto – is many-sided. The first goal being the promotion of the public image of the town of Barolo to connoisseurs and newbies”. We strongly suggest a walk through the village of Barolo, a land of great wines, prestigious restaurants, but also rich in hidden spots and gorgeous landscapes, where you’ll be able to taste the simplicity of the peaceful countryside. “Furthermore – the president goes on – each night will be a unique occasion to taste up to 9 different glasses of Barolo in the place where this amazing wine was born and also a good reason to experience (or re-experience) some restaurants that are celebrated well outside Barolo’s boundary.
